Terri Toner, BA

Aging Life Care Professional
Terri, originally from New Orleans, Louisiana, began her career in healthcare by conducting community health screenings for diverse populations. During a visit to Florida, she was drawn to the area’s cleaner living environment and decided to relocate in 1990.

Upon moving to Florida, Terri began working in the assisted living sector, conducting assessments to determine individuals' suitability for admission. Seeking a more proactive role in preventive healthcare, she transitioned to teaching wellness and prevention classes for seniors at local health clubs and community centers.

Her dedication to senior health led her to CARES (Community Aging and Retirement Services), where she delivered A Matter of Balance, a fall prevention program aimed at reducing risks and improving quality of life for older adults.
She later joined the Area Agency on Aging as a Health & Wellness Coordinator, expanding her impact by implementing evidence-based programs such as Savvy Caregiver, Chronic Disease Self-Management, Chronic Pain Self-Management, and Diabetes Self-Management.

Following her tenure at the Agency, Terri took on a more hands-on role as a Life Care Manager for Care Resources, where she applied her extensive experience and credentials to support seniors in navigating life transitions. She takes great pride in the dedication of her colleagues and the shared passion for helping individuals achieve better health and well-being.

With over 45 years of experience in healthcare prevention services, Terri holds multiple certifications, including credentials from the National Academy of Science Medicine, various group fitness certifications, A Matter of Balance Fall Prevention Certification, Chronic Conditions Self-Management Certification, and Savvy Caregiver Dementia Certification.

Terri has always been deeply committed to preventive care, empowering individuals to enhance their health and quality of life. Her passion lies in helping others achieve the best possible outcomes, ensuring they can enjoy life to the fullest.
