Chris Kantrowitz, MSW

Aging Life Care Professional
Chris has close to 50 years’ experience working exclusively with seniors and older adults in the community and health care settings.  Originally from Long Island, New York, Chris initially thought she would work with children, but an employment opportunity at a 960-bed skilled nursing facility in NYC where she worked for 8 years changed the course of her professional life. She then had the rather unique opportunity to work in an Orthodox Glatt Kosher nursing home in Brooklyn where she and the Rabbi learned a lot from each other in their commitment to the residents.

Looking back, Chris can see that her desire to work with older adults and their families was fueled by her own personal family experiences with disability, depression, and prolonged grief.
At the time when she entered the field, there was no such thing as care management and community resources were hit or miss so nursing homes were often the only option for older adults who needed care.

Chris was fortunate to learn care management from the founders of the movement at that time. Those years left an imprint on her that remains today. She devoted 20 years as the Senior Social Work Care manager at Senior Bridge. In 2020, Chris created her own small private practice and benefited from her established relationships with elder law attorneys, relocation specialists, and nursing professionals that allowed her to offer personalized support and oversight to her clients.

In September 2023, Chris moved from Ft Lauderdale to Land O Lakes. She has joined Care Resources and looks forward to learning from the team and integrating into her new community.
